The reviews are pouring in for El Rayo. Except for one plaintive cry for attention, most are pretty positive. There's still a Mission District shaped whole in my heart, but El Rayo is okay. I'd still like to see a Portland Extension to the Alameda-Weehawken Burrito Tunnel though. There is no finer purpose to put engineering to. As far as fish tacos go, I'm digging Olive Cafe more.
And because every post ought to have an image, here's a burrito cat:

We went over the weekend. I'm saving up the details till I get the time to write, but in general I concur with you.
I did have a michelada, which was delish.
My first clue was that there were no grease stains on the bag of tortilla chips they handed me!
"Okay" is not what we need here. Also, from what I've heard, "Okay" is being pretty generous.
I don't want to go because I'll be overwhelmed with uncontrollable rage if it sucks...
You're not missing anything by avoiding it, but if you do go and you succumb to rage and find yourself needing help with the ensuing assault charges and the property damage claims, let me know. I'll be glad to help. I'm sure we can argue taco-induced insanity.
I really miss California burritos! It's a good thing we don't have the secret tunnel - I'd use it all the time.
I miss those vegetarian tamales at the Davis farmers' market from the tamale cart.
